Review: Wild Ones – Keep It Safe

Wild Ones - Keep It SafeRating: 6.5/10

Portland synthpop band Wild Ones is sticking true to its word with the new album Keep It Safe. For a band with a name like Wild Ones, there is nothing risky or revolutionary about the sound, which has been fine tuned with the precision of an open heart surgeon. However, “keeping it safe” seems to work for them. On lead vocals, Danielle Sullivan will enchant you with her dreamy tone quality. The three part harmonies are simple, yet exquisite. The synths, guitar, and keyboards create layers of sound which subtly direct your ear to Sullivan’s delightful voice, but fail to amaze on their own. Overall, it’s a catchy synthpop album you don’t have to feel ashamed to listen too, but it never quite reaches its full potential
