Mellow, somber album overall but it doesn’t make me introspective though–it just makes me want to stop listening.  Lots of dissonance (or were they just out of tune?), which is effective in making the listener slightly uncomfortable.  After listening through the album a couple times, I still am unable to remember any snippets of songs.  Nothing made an impression as catchy or good in general. The singer has an innocent, child-like voice, which isn’t used much for singing but rather for a combination of yelling and talking in different tones.  Nice guitar parts though, I just wish there was more melodic or rhythmic parts to pull everything together and make the songs more coherent. The album didn’t feel like it had any ups or downs; it was just a combination of songs that sounds vaguely similar to each other and they called it good.

FCC:

Good Tracks: Monument, Your Beat

RIYL: Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Ting Tings
