Slow Magic – Triangle

Score: 7.0/10

Slow Magic is the moniker of an anonymous DJ who is starting to make a name for himself in the chillwave scene. Triangle is Slow Magic’s first release, and with it, he manages to bring together a beautiful synthpop sound that may not be extremely unique but still provides a very enjoyable experience. The dreamy synths and relaxed beats make this album a perfect choice for those who enjoy the glittery, hazy sounds of chillwave and dream pop. The vocal samples are used in a way that beautifully complements the dreamy sound of the synths and percussion.

Clocking in at 26 minutes in length, Triangle doesn’t wear out its welcome in the slightest. The tracks on this record are interesting and varied enough to hold the listener’s attention the whole way through and not get monotonous. Many DJs in this genre tend to lose my interest after a while, but Slow Magic has something that keeps me listening and leaves me wanting more. Whether you’re looking for something to just relax and study to or you just really like chillwave, Triangle is definitely a great pick.
