Pitchfork Music Festival 2018

Even though I’ve lived in the Midwest for three solid years, I’ve yet to see the ‘Windy City’ as it is so fondly called. So, naturally, when I learned I’d (finally) be going to Chicago this Summer, I did some research to make sure it would be a great trip. All the best trips start with some in-depth snooping and searching for the best of the best that your destination has to offer. Upon my search I found this little thing called the Pitchfork Music Festival! I’d never heard of the festival before, but I’d definitely heard of Pitchfork, as I’m sure many of you have. Could it be, that my favorite music publication, source of the best music reviews, articles, and featured artist content, really has it’s very own music festival? That happened to be the same weekend that I’d be visiting the area? It could be, it was, it is, and it is going to be, my favorite thing I’ve ever covered up to this point. I, ladies and gentlemen, will be attending the 13th annual Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago’s Union Park this July 20th-22nd, and I’ll be writing up a full and comprehensive piece about the experience for this website, as well as taking several amazing photographs to share with you all!

Imagine if 80/35 joined with the Des Moines Farmers Market, the Des Moines Art Festival, and had Tame Impala headlining their first day along with Courtney Barnett and The Curls. It sounds like the insane fever dream of some music obsessed hipster, but I promise you, it is a reality. That reality is called the Pitchfork Music Festival, and it is coming back for it’s 13th year; from July 20th to 22nd come listen to some of the most talented musicians of our time in beautiful Union Park, Chicago. This internationally recognized gathering brings together some of the best local food, vendors, and artists to celebrate their love for music and culture. It is also quite reasonably priced if I do say so myself, but you can decide that for yourself. Here are the links if you want to check out one of the coolest music festivals of the year this summer:
