Rebekka Brown DJ of February
Rebbeka also goes by the DJ name of Grandma Brown and the kinds of music you will hear during the show can range from punk, old school rock n roll, to a love story playlist that complements a certain story. Having an arrange of music brings variety to the listeners and the way Rebekka plays them all together to fit and make the program run smoothly is a skill that has been learned over her 5 years at KURE. The artists that she personally enjoys are Beck Echo, Purity Ring, and Holly Hurdman but told me that it can change from day to day depending on vibe of the day.KURE is honored to recognize Rebbeka Brown as DJ of the month for the month
of February for the production of the show “Intended for Human Consumption” on Tuesdays from 1pm – 2pm. Rebekka is a graduate student that has been involve with KURE for the past 5 years while attending Iowa State and currently studying design in sustainable environment. Being involved with KURE for the past 5 years she has gained skills from show production that is prominent during the show and also understanding of how to reach the listeners of Ames.
Being involved with KURE over the past five years has brought many opportunities for her involvement with music review committee, and KQ committee. Rebekka has helped with KQ in some sort of way every year since 2010 and this past KQ event she was involved with 23 hours of the 26 of the event and planned the flash mob events during KQ. KURE recognizes the great production of show that is brought to the community of Ames.
