Standout Singles February!

Evan – 7 Degrees by Friko: a beautiful ode to every kind of human relationship. Great vocals, and an exciting look at what Friko’s next project will be like.

Jfitz – I Want It All by Brewster Durbin and Fairys: Taking a page from the euphoric, unpretentious pop of artists like Owl City and Porter Robinson, this is one of the most addictive tracks I’ve heard in a while. Really hoping these guys make it big.

Sophie – Cats by Mitski: “Nothings About to Happen to Me,” Mitski succeeds in beautiful lyricism, calming melodies, and creates a peaceful aura on “Cats”. Give it a listen!

Spenser – Maybe I’m The Reason by Dev Lemons: This new Dev Lemons track is a ghostly adventure through the crushing feelings of longing. I love the sound of this track, with the breakdown at the end taking me back to Jane Remover’s “Census Designated”. Absolutely loved this track.

Alex – Delirium by Gorillaz: Gorillaz come back with their best project since Plastic Beach and Delirium sounds like it could have straight off the track list from that album. Mark E. Smith features with surrealist lyrics and vocals that are simply just fun.

Owen S. – Numerology by My New Band Believe: It almost feels wrong that this song is under 4 and a half minutes, there’s enough musical ideas shoved into this song for half an hour. Cameron Picton, formerly of black midi, worked with artists from a bunch of other exciting 2020s bands, and everybody involved came together to make one of the most intoxicatingly energetic songs of the decade.
